These dragons are known to be stubborn, picky, lustful, demanding and protective of anything they view as weaker than themselvs. They most often Mommy everything, they to be always near the youngsters. They drag Theirs to EVERY hatching they can psyhically attend, they also have been known to convince a hatchling to take a rider even if Theirs isn't there. They hate to see a young one 'between'. They also do not allow the death of weyrlings to occur, during betweening lesson they will monitor all the dragonets if it seems one may not make it out they will find the one and drag it out. They also have been known to attack and maim those they think are not suitable mates.

Gold
These are the second largest dragons on Pern. They are dominant over all other colors; (except the Bloods) any non-gold dragon will invariably obey a queen's orders, even against the wishes of its own rider. Queens are incapable of digesting firestone and producing flame; however, they do fight Thread - they fly in the lowest wing, with their riders armed with specially designed flamethrowers to flame any Thread missed by the above wings. An egg that is going to hatch a gold dragon is notable: It is gold-colored and larger than other eggs. A gold dragon will always Impress a heterosexual female and are believed by most Weyrfolk to prefer young women who were not raised in the Weyr.

Diamond
These large males tend to be very noble, rash, protevtive of any life, and open minded. These dragons rarely realize just how deadly some of their actions can be. Diamonds also just tend to be willing and desirable in protecting the weyr and clutches. When they father a clutch they act very much like a bronze father would. Diamonds are large and their hides are rough unlike other dragons hides they don't need oiling. Their hides area bluish silver color and the scales tend to sparkle and shine in bright sunlight much like a faceted gemstone.

Bronze
They are almost always the ones to mate with queens, as the smaller colors generally lack the stamina to chase and catch the gold dragons when they rise to mate. Due to the 5-1 bronze/gold ratio and the infrequency of gold mating flights, they often mate with the other female dragons, but their size often puts them at a disadvantage in chasing the agile, smaller females. The senior bronze of a Weyr is determined through which bronze wins the mating flight of the senior gold. The rider of a bronze dragon is always a heterosexual male.

Orange
These dragons are short and stocky, their hides range anywhere from a very pale almost yellow color to a vibrant almost neon orange. Tehy are muscular and then to be a bit more of a sturdy dragon than lithe or nimble. These dragons seem to be an even mix of all the dragon colors, they can be just about anything that a dragon can, though a Queen is rare and not that powerful.

Steel
These dragons are sleek, majestic and their hides range from a dark gun metal grey to a bright vibrant sterling stainless steel color. These dragons are very deep and thinking. They tend to be methodical in all they do, also take their time doing anything. Most Steels refer to their riders by their name or nicknames.

Brown
Browns are the Knights of the Weyr. Calm, considerate and polite, they are the work horses, often seen carrying out daily chores and running errands. The browns are fiercely loyal, protective and dependable. They can rise to the ranks of Junior Weyrleader and are often seen as wing seconds. They are able to fly full falls, often the first to arrive and the last to leave. A very steady dragon, who knows its worth and place in the Weyr hierarchy.

Coral
Thse fairly small females are lithe and colorful, their hides being any color that is possible in coral. They can be an off white, orange, purple, red or even pink but most commonly they are mix of these colors. Tehy tend to be helpful and kind, also protective of Theirs. Coral's hate to see Theirs in pain or those Theirs are close to so they do all they can to help.

Blue
Blues are extremely sensitive dragons, they seem to be the ones along with their green sisters, who can sense when someone might , make a good rider. Blues are deep thinkers, and although they do enjoy a prank or a trick they would rather leave this to others and think about he world. A very philosophical dragon.

Brass
Brass dragons tend to range from a dusted brass to a new shiny brass. They are a very lithe dragon with slightly longer wingspans than the average for their size. These dragons are talkitive and social, they hate to be alone. They have also been known to try and pull pranks now and again, they also talk to anyone and anything that they think might listen to them. Some have been known to speak to their bondeds before hatching.

Sapphire
These dragons are lithe, sleek and are built alot like greens. Their hides however range in shade and color just like a blue but they have a gemstone sheen just like Diamonds. These dragons are exactly the same as blues with one exception they are female not male.

Rainbow
Rainbow dragons are sleek and lithe, on average their wingspans are longer and thinner than the average dragon. Their hides shimmer and shift like a rainbow seen from a distance. Their hides seem to change color as often as their eyes do. These dragons are ADHD, almost all are hyper. They never slow down they are always moving, trying to do something with their riders. These dragons also think a bit faster than the average dragon.

Green
Green dragons are extremely caring and thoughtful dragons. They enjoy being flirtatious, and having the males fawn after them, but they wont allow it to go to their head. They are warm and friendly dragons who are extremely valuable during thread fall. They are quick and agile. Green dragons are impulsive creatures, and they can be highly entertaining.

White
Originally thought to be a fluke, Whites were branded as a one-of-a-kind dragon. However, Ruth was not the only dragon of his coloration, and whites began to be born with some more frequency and became an official dragon color. However, they are still odd in that each white that comes out varies in gender.... Some are male and chase after greens and reds, while some are female and fly to mate... Then there are a few who are genderless like Ruth, and do not do either activity.Regardless, they do not clutch eggs. It simply depends on what is shelled. In hide color, they are white. Their hides range from a greyish white to a white as pure as snow. They are very small dragons, and are very lithe and quick, the fastest of all dragons. They are very intelligent dragons and have quite a sense for where they are as well as when, when they are travelling /between/. They are quick thinkers, and possess innate abilities that no other dragons possess. This could lead to why they are so rare, and very few have been shelled. They Impress to any gender, any sexuality.

Wingless
These poor beasts are forever stuck on the ground never able to lift themselves off of it, however they make up for their lack of wings with greater strength and are almost twice the size they are suppose to be. Their strength is what gives them a place in the structure of the weyr, they are not pleased

Mating is something of an oddity for these creatures, they do not run or chase they try to knock the other over and pin them. Golds are arrogant of their size and such so they try to get one of the bronzes to pin them, injuries are common in these types. The clutching females do not stay with their clutch so another must foster them under another female that will guard them.

Black Striped
These dragons are the bonding equal of the White Stripes they feel that only the strongest rule over all the other types, if a strong blue is hatched and he can prove it by beating a bronze or a gold then he should lead. To these dragons they are a group you hunt as a group you live as a group and you do everything together and leadership is determined by strength not hide color.
