Myarin had been trying to find a way to spend some time with T'nan he had been Weyrleader of Benden these last eight Turns and she Weyrwoman. She was sure she loved him but what were these other feelings? Why was the Emperor here taking an interest in her clutch if not to tell her she was now High Weyrwoman? Making T'nan High Weyrleader? It confused her and her flitters were going nuts as they flew around trying to make sure that she was ok.
Morisa however jumped up onto the bed and purred, she was happy and knew that she was going to get petted as soon as Myarin calmed down. It was interesting to say the least, however Myarin was to nervous to calm down.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Place: Myarin and T'nan's quarters Time: Early Evening after the Touching.
"I brought some klah and some food, though I don't know what it is," T'nan announced, stepping into the room as best he could with both hands occupied. "As far as I know it's something sweet, and the klah isn't very good, despite having been shipped up from Benden, I think." He wasn't exactly paying attention to what was going on. It wasn't until Finaire hopped in as he was about to close the door that he even noticed.
The flitters were going mad, and it wasn't long until his joined in as well. Tippi hopped in after, though she nearly ended up with her tail caught in the door as he kicked it shut, leaving him to wince and apologise rapidly while gazing around the room. Something was wrong, and once again he had no idea what it was. He paused, blinking slowly before edging around the edge of the room towards the bed. "Did I come at a bad time?"
"Thank you T'nan, it should be good enough after all the dragons will need to eat soon. Also Abby thinks the eggs will hatch any day now she's a bit edgy and so am I." Myarin told him truthfully as she looked at him wondering what else to say to the man. He was her weyrmate and Abby wouldn't let any other male catch her so it was Caith and Abarineth; Myarin and T'nan.
"No you didn't I'm just wondering why the Emperor took an interest in Abby's latest clutch, what could the reason be?" Myarin commented as she looked at her mate and wondered what else to say. However Sea and Skye spared her by chirping then calming down as they went towards the two Rainbows. They were indeed interesting to the two older flitters they were intrigued by them.
"I don't think a few sweet cakes and some klah will be enough fo the dragons," he murmered, completely confused now by what had been said. Mainly because of Fin and Tip, but they were always a bit of a pain. The eldest was flying around like a nut, her wing hitting the ceiling more often then not as she flew over the others. Tippi, however, had chosen to hop around the floor, a few hurried flaps lifting her from the ground every now and then, but certainly not high enough for it to be considered actual flight. Come to think of it, she never did fly much at all. Her wingspan was the right size, and her weight wasn't that much of an issue since her wingspan cancelled that out...She just didn't seem to like to fly. He wasn't going to make her. He'd not had much luck in slimming her down, either. At least the hatching would make take his mind off it.
"Caith won't stop flittering around the cavern like a hatchling, he's that escited about it. I've told - hello Morisa - I've told him that if he gets Abarineth mad he's on his own," T'nan chuckled, reaching out to gently ruffle the feline's fur as he placed the trays down on the bed, looking at her hard for a moment before turning round. "No licking them, Morisa, please? There're betting on the outcome back at the Weyr." He had not snuck back there on one of the transport ships a few days back...Definately not. For some reason he felt guilty even thinking about it, but it didn't make sense to leave the Weyr without leadership...Not that the Wingleaders weren't doing a good job already.
Of course, he was a little stumped by the Emperor's interest in them. He doubted it was to do with promotion, Benden was not one of the best Weyrs around, there were plenty of others that had 'leaders who could fill the positions of High Weyrleaders - not that he didn't think Myarin couldn't do a wonderful job at it, of course. But...Benden wasn't exactly the best there was.
"I'm sure he's just checking out all of the Weyrs and took the opportunity to, err, get closer to his future subjects," he said calmly, stepping towards her with the second mug of klah. It was going to get cold it she didn't drink it...There was a smile on his face as he leaned down to kiss her temple, holding the mug out in front of him. "You can't blame him for that. I woudln't be surprised if he went to Telgar next."
